Known for her exquisite teaching of alignment and ability to make yoga poses accessible, Willamarie endeared herself to Down Under students with her warm, welcoming manner which put both beginners and intermediate students at ease. With a different anatomical and philosophical focus each class, Willamarie teaches an intelligent, methodical sequence, drawing your attention to the anatomy of the body, and to the art of observing with curiosity and equanimity. Like the other Iyengar faculty, Willamarie did her teacher training with Peentz Dubble and Patricia Walden, studied yoga philosophy with Edwin Bryant, and Sanskrit with Leslie Freyberg. She is also a teacher at the Museum of Fine Arts.
